This
lovely stone-built farmhouse located in a beautiful position, in the hills of Lucca near
the village Matraia. From the house there are breathtaking views of the surrounding
countryside of olive groves and vineyards, as far as the town of Lucca in the distance.
This part of the Luccan countryside is famous for its beautiful historical villas. In
particular, very close to Giannello is the Villa Reale, where Giuseppina is Bonaparte,
Napoleon's sister Duchess of Lucca resided. The villa, with its beautiful gardens is open
to the public several days a week. Giannello is a very special property for six people. It
has just been tastefully restored in a nice rustic style, still maintaining the old beamed
ceilings and antique terracotta floors in most of the rooms. At the same
time, it has been supplied with modern amenities such as satellite tv
and DSL. A particular feature is on
the big terrace in front of the house, ideal for eating in beautiful surroundings.
Cooking services can be arranged upon request for the guests of the
property.
